Eligibility criteria
Geography: Projects must either be physically based in Europe or be online initiatives that are accessible to participants in Europe
Age range: up to 18 years old
Subjects: Mathematics and Science
Student profile: Exceptional talent (e.g. Olympiad-level)
Project types: We welcome a variety of project formats, including but not limited to for advanced level competitions and camps*, professional development for educators, talent scouting initiatives, extracurricular clubs, online courses and training, mentorship and coaching programmes, and the development of specialised STEM curricula
Funding: One-off grants up to £10,000 for small projects and grants up to £50,000 per year for larger projects
Legal: Applications must be from a registered nonprofit or include a fiscal sponsorship arrangement with a registered nonprofit
* We support capacity building initiatives including staff costs, non-profit set-up, outreach, and strategic planning to reduce volunteer reliance and enhance sustainability. Note: We do not fund operational expenses like travel or accommodation. Applications should detail plans for organisational growth and sustainability.
Priorities
Following the first round of grants, we have updated the European Grants Programme criteria to reflect the priorities of the programme. We are looking for applications that:
support talented students, especially from under-represented groups
strengthen organisational sustainability
have robust programme design and delivery plans
are focused on tracking and demonstrating outcomes
could potentially be replicable in other countries
