Mission

The Fund’s mission is to foster exceptional STEM talent by funding projects that identify and nurture excellence in young individuals.

We do this by working with partners who share our ambition and have the networks and expertise to help us achieve our mission.

About the Fund

The STEM Talent Fund identifies and develops the brightest young minds in STEM through funding projects and research, and convening leaders to drive greater collaboration. 

Funding Europe

Olympiad Grants Programme (Now Open)

The Olympiad Grants Programme will nurture exceptional young STEM talent through grants to support projects such as:

  • Advanced competitions and talent searches

  • Educator training

  • The creation of specialised curricula

  • Coaching and mentorship initiatives

  • Enrichment camps and clubs

  • Online games

We offer funding for small projects up to £10,000 for up to one year and larger initiatives up to £50,000 per year, for up to two years.


Research

We are partnering with organisations to accelerate the creation of effective tools and strategies for discovering and supporting individuals with talent and potential in STEM fields.


Funding Global Projects

We collaborate with organisations that have a deeper experience and understanding of other regions so that we extend our support to projects beyond Europe.

Application process

Self-Assessment:

Applicants self-assess their suitability against the eligibility criteria

Application Submission:

Eligible candidates submit their applications for consideration

Stage 1: Submission review and invitation to interview

The Fund will evaluate all submissions and invite selected applicants to interview. Applicants not selected to advance will be informed at this stage.

Stage 2: Interviews and due diligence

Following initial interviews, shortlisted applicants will participate in a brief due diligence process led by the Fund Director.

Stage 3: Funding decision and notification

Following evaluation by our investment committee, funding decisions will be made and applicants will be notified of the outcomes.

The STEM Talent Fund is funded by XTX Markets, and administered by Purposeful Ventures, which will be managing the administration and delivery of the Fund’s activities.
